The Statement series is the culmination of Naim's forty years of experience in the Hi-Fi industry. It is designed for the purest musical enjoyment, aiming to set a new standard in High-End audio reproduction. The lineup consists of the NAC S1 preamplifier and two NAP S1 monoblock power amplifiers.
Features:
- Power per channel (4 Ohms) 1450W, (8 Ohms) 746W, (1 Ohm) 9000W
- Microprocessor-controlled volume regulator for smooth, progressive volume adjustment
- Fixed set of individual resistors providing 100 possible volume levels
The majestic monolithic structure with a clear silhouette is complemented by the natural sculptural outlines of the heat sink and the illuminated volume and balance controls. This duality in design symbolizes Naim's pursuit of technical perfection always rooted in musical perception. It may be the best amplifier in the world based on laboratory tests, but ultimately, it is the listener tests that matter most.
Each NAPS1 monoblock features a massive 4000 VA transformer mounted vertically on a triangular frame in the lower section. Any vibrations and noises from the transformer are transmitted through the frame to the floor spikes rather than the sensitive amplifier components. Each amplifier has a power output of 746W (one horsepower) at 8 Ohms, 1450W at 4 Ohms, and 9000W at 1 Ohm.
The amplifier is designed with a bridged circuit with three stages, where negative feedback is only used in the first stage (voltage amplifier). The second stage consists of a super-fast noise suppression circuit, while the third stage is a high-precision output buffer with unity gain.
The circuit uses transistors made from aluminum nitride ALN 009, which has significantly higher thermal conductivity than the traditionally used aluminum oxide. This results in a transistor with high thermal stability. To achieve the best contact between the new proprietary ALN transistors and heat sinks, a special thermal paste with ultra-fine diamond particles was developed, increasing its thermal conductivity by more than 9 times compared to standard paste.
The NAPS1 amplifier cascades are powered by Naim's famous discrete regulators, which have a current rating 50 times higher and a voltage rating 3 times higher than standard regulators. The NAPS1 heat sinks are made from solid aluminum billets on a 5-axis CNC machine. They are then machined, meticulously polished, bead-blasted, and anodized.
To create a physical barrier between the two device sections, a central acrylic pad is used. It is machined from a solid piece of acrylic with the Naim logo applied. The internal surfaces are processed to create a unique diffusion effect for illuminating the logo.
