Over the six years since the release of the last model of Nait integrated amplifiers, the Naim research team has created a series of enhancements. The result is the upgraded amplification sections of Nait XS 3, providing even higher quality and realistic sound of your favorite music through speakers or headphones. Nait XS 3 has undergone significant modernization to improve its characteristics. Thanks to the addition of the built-in phono stage, SuperNait 3 has become the perfect partner for turntables - as well as for streamers, CD players, and any other music sources you want to enjoy with the signature Naim sound.
Nait XS 3 has almost all the characteristics of the benchmark Nait integrated amplifier. In a more compact chassis, Nait XS 3 offers a power output of 70 watts and five analog inputs plus a input for a turntable. The preamp's sound is characterized by the trademark transparency of Naim. Additionally, Nait XS 3 is equipped with a Class A headphone amplifier. Nait 3 can be further upgraded with external power supplies, power amps, and cables to get the maximum quality sound.
Technology and Craftsmanship
The Naim research team has found a way to more than double the speed of the voltage amplification cascade, resulting in a twofold increase in the reaction speed of the output cascade. The transistors of the second amplification cascade are optimized and no longer require cascade shielding. This means the amplifier requires less stabilization: the rise time of the output voltage has doubled, resulting in a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
The phono stage is designed with three cascades: amplification cascade, passive equalization cascade, and final amplification cascade with active equalization. This solution has an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, the ability for RIAA equalization beyond the audible sound spectrum, and excellent overload margin. All capacitors and resistors for RIAA equalization are film components for through-hole mounting, with reduced microphone effect and superior peak characteristics. Since phono stages are 1000 times more sensitive than other inputs, this solution significantly enhances sound quality. The input impedance is 47k ohms in parallel with a capacitance load of 470 pF - ideal for 5mV moving magnet cartridges.
