The Music Hall MMF-9.3 Turntable is a high-quality audiophile turntable with unique features and a belt drive system. The turntable features a three-plinth base with an external motor. It is housed in a vibration-absorbing chassis with a glossy lacquer finish.
Three-Plinth Base
The bottom plinth has three adjustable spiked feet and comes with a set of small disks (caps) to protect the surface it sits on. The top plinth has a built-in spirit level. The plinths are separated by Sorbothane half-spheres, acting as a suspension and vibration isolation system. The bottom plinth includes external audio connectors and comes with a high-quality connecting cable.
Motor
The 15-volt AC motor is located at the front left corner of the turntable. The electronic speed control system supplies the motor with 50Hz current instead of 60Hz for quieter operation. The motor is isolated from the turntable and has a blue LED light. Its diagonal placement reduces vibration transmitted to the cartridge via the drive belt. Speed switching between 33 1/3 and 45 RPM is done with a button press.
Platter
The drive belt runs around a 1-inch thick acrylic platter. Acrylic was chosen for its excellent acoustic properties and insulation. The platter spins on an exceptionally quiet inverted ceramic bearing. A soft felt mat is included in the standard turntable package.
Tonearm
The turntable features the "Project 9cc" tonearm, a 9-inch carbon fiber arm with a carbon fiber headshell. The inverted bearing utilizes four Swiss ABEC 7 hardened races. The counterweight's center of gravity is aligned with the stylus tip for optimal balance. The counterweight is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damper. The tonearm also has adjustable vertical tracking angle [VTA], a damped cue lift, and high-quality flexible internal wiring made with specially pure copper.
Cartridge
The MMF-9.3 Turntable comes with a Goldring Eroica LX cartridge as standard. The Eroica LX is a low-output moving coil cartridge with a high-strength body, a rare earth neodymium magnet, and a Gyger II stylus with a linear contact profile. This cartridge complements the MMF-9.3 Turntable perfectly, ensuring excellent sound quality that will delight you for years to come.
