The Simaudio Moon 681 is a network streamer/DAC equipped with proprietary MDE1 technologies, the MiND2 network module, and is Roon Ready certified. It comes with a new BRM-1 remote control. The "Northern Collection" devices feature the latest proprietary technologies: Moon Distortion Cancelling Amplifier (MDCA) which suppresses distortions and noise to an unprecedentedly low level, Moon Damping Base (MDB) for mechanical vibration isolation, and MHV (Moon Hybrid Volume) for volume control.

The MHV (Moon Hybrid Volume) technology combines digital attenuation and analog gain levels for high-performance volume control when the 681 is not connected to a MOON preamplifier, without compromising the audio signal in the digital domain.
