Another feature of these speakers is that they have a three-way configuration. To reproduce midrange frequencies in the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G, a second driver is dedicated, providing the most articulated and natural reproduction of vocals and acoustic instruments. The Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G is equipped with a signature tweeter with a gold-plated C-CAM diffuser, the same as in the other speakers in the 7G series. The high-frequency driver is installed in a Uniform Dispersion Waveguide of the second generation, which aligns its directivity diagram and improves efficiency.
In the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G, there are two 5.5-inch drivers. All of these drivers are equipped with C-CAM diffusers – their structure is a ceramic and magnesium-aluminum alloy "sandwich". The geometry of the diffusers is also unusual. It is made using RST II technology, which provides increased rigidity and excellent resistance to resonances and flexing.
The drivers are connected to a new crossover filter, made of high-quality components and equipped with two pairs of input terminals. The speaker cabinets are made of thick MDF and additionally reinforced with internal bracing to eliminate unwanted sound coloration. Since the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G speakers have a small width, which corresponds to modern design requirements, they come with supports that slightly protrude beyond the base area. Spikes and damping pads are included with the speakers.
The Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G speakers feature a dual rear-mounted port. Given the small size of the speakers and the resulting physical limitation of bass depth, placing them close to the wall can be a good solution. This setup can enhance the output of the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G in the mid-bass range and overall make the sound more saturated. However, some experimentation may be required.
The speakers are equipped with dual input terminals, allowing them to be connected using the bi-wiring/bi-amping scheme.
