MPD III Ribbon-Type Diaphragm with Lightly Pleated Design
Micro Pleated Diaphragm III - also known as the Heil AMT or Air Motion Transformer, offers advantages such as reduced fragility due to a unique ribbed stiffness resembling a 'accordion,' and higher efficiency due to a larger radiating surface with similar dimensions.
C-CAM (Magnesium-Aluminum Alloy with Ceramic Coating)
C-CAM is an innovative alloy originally developed for the aerospace industry. A C-CAM diaphragm combines extreme rigidity with lightness. The aluminum and magnesium alloy goes through stress-relief processing to prevent surface deformation and loss of strength. A layer of pure ceramic (alumina) is applied to provide high bending resistance. C-CAM enhances clarity and reduces signal distortion compared to conventional diaphragms.
RDT III Sandwich-Type Nomex Composite Diaphragm
Rigid Diaphragm Technology III features a sandwich design where a base of cellular Nomex aramid is coated with C-CAM externally and two layers of carbon fiber with perpendicular fibers internally. Changes have been made to the diaphragm edge and suspension design, resulting in speakers with record-low distortion in Monitor Audio's history.
Enclosure
Made of complex-profile MDF panels forming a curved, reinforced rigid enclosure with a thickness of 18-21mm and internal walls of 36mm thickness. The top panel is adorned with an engraved inlay and finished with 16 layers of lacquer.
