The Monitor Audio Platinum 200 3G is a floorstanding speaker capable of providing levels of bass extension and detail that are usually only found in the largest floorstanding speakers. It is able to deliver an exceptionally wide soundstage despite its relatively compact size. The new MPD III transducer and RDT III midrange and bass drivers have improved the overall balance of the speaker, reduced distortion, and allowed it to provide exceptional room-filling sound. Additionally, it is equipped with a new cast outrigger plinth and base.

Micro Pleated Diaphragm III (MPD III)
The Micro Pleated Diaphragm III – also known as a Heil Air Motion Transformer – offers advantages such as reduced fragility due to its unique ribbed stiffness design, and increased efficiency thanks to its larger radiating surface area within the same dimensions.
C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium Alloy)
C-CAM is an innovative alloy originally developed for the aerospace industry. The C-CAM diaphragm boasts excellent qualities, being extremely rigid yet lightweight. During the manufacturing process, the aluminium and magnesium alloy undergoes a stress relief process to prevent surface deformation and loss of strength. A layer of pure ceramic (corundum) is applied to the surface, giving the diaphragms high bending resistance. After forming, the C-CAM material provides enhanced clarity and reduced signal distortion compared to traditional diaphragms.
Rigid Diaphragm Technology III (RDT III)
Rigid Diaphragm Technology III features a sandwich-style diaphragm, with a base of cellular aramid Nomex coated with C-CAM on the outside, and two layers of carbon fiber with perpendicular-oriented fibers on the inside. Changes have also been made to the diaphragm edge and suspension design, resulting in new drivers with record-low distortion in the company's history.
Cabinet
Constructed from complex profile MDF panels, forming a curved reinforced cabinet with a thickness of 18-21mm and internal partitions of 36mm thickness. The top panel is embellished with an engraved inlay. Finished with 16 layers of lacquer.
