HDT technology (Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology) is a new technology in Monitor Audio's metallic diaphragms, based on the experience of creating RDT III diaphragms for the flagship Hyphn model and Platinum 3G series. HDT adds a hexagonal pattern to the Nomex diaphragm cells—a sandwich of aluminum with carbon fiber skins—resulting in a diaphragm that shifts the resonance frequency up by 10% compared to the diaphragms used in the Silver Series 7G speakers. HDT technology is used in all models of the Monitor Audio Gold 6G series and is applied to the new 3-inch midrange driver, 6-inch mid-bass driver, and 6- and 8-inch bass drivers. C-CAM technology is still used to reinforce the cone and reduce fatigue.
