The Meze Silver Plated PCUHD Upgrade Cable is made using modern high-purity Furukawa oxygen-free copper wire, coated with pure silver. The copper PCUHD cables with silver plating provide high resolution and detailed open sound with balanced and controlled transient processes and controlled bass. The sound is organic and realistic, conveying the full scale of the soundstage.
By combining a shaping process that does not use heat-resistant materials with subsequent processing free of hot extrusion or rolling processes, the cable can be mass-produced in a way that eliminates inclusions and impurities. Although the cable is a class 4N material (copper purity of 99.99%), it has high plasticity and stretchability, allowing it to process down to super thin strands.
Oxygen is one of the most common impurities in copper products. For this reason, gas burners are not used in the production processes, and noble gases fill the internal parts of the equipment. These methods have reduced the oxygen content to 5 ppm, below the standard required for oxygen-free copper.
