The Meze Copper Plated PCUHD Upgrade Cable is made using modern high-purity oxygen-free Furukawa copper wire. The PCUHD copper cables provide high resolution and detailed open sound with smooth and controlled transition processes and controlled bass. The sound is organic and realistic, conveying the full scale of the soundstage.
By combining a shaping process that does not use heat-resistant materials with subsequent processing free from hot extrusion or rolling processes, the cable can be produced in mass production in a way that eliminates inclusions and impurities. Although the cable is made of 4N class material (copper purity 99.99%), it has high ductility and drawability, allowing processing down to ultra-fine strands.
Oxygen is one of the most common impurities in copper products. For this reason, gas burners are not used in the production processes, and the internal parts of the equipment are filled with noble gases. These methods have reduced the oxygen content to 5 ppm, which is below the standard required for oxygen-free copper.
