The McIntosh RS250 Wireless Speaker System is the most advanced and powerful wireless speaker system for home audio from McIntosh. The RS250 integrates various technologies such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Chromecast, and Roon Ready. With all these built-in technologies, you can easily stream data to the RS250 from your smart devices.
As the worthy successor to the RS200 wireless speaker system, the McIntosh RS250 model does not require a special app for control; instead, you can conveniently control it directly from your favorite streaming apps that use compatible setup technologies. To connect the McIntosh RS250 to your network, it comes equipped with an Ethernet port and supports dual-band Wi-Fi. The McIntosh RS250 is also compatible with Google Assistant for voice control.
Compatible with high-resolution TIDAL Hi-Fi digital music files at 24-bit/192 kHz, the McIntosh RS250 features built-in high-resolution streaming capabilities, making it the ultimate Roon Ready device. Roon Ready network devices feature built-in Roon streaming technology and are certified by Roon Labs to ensure the highest level of quality and performance in network streaming. For Bluetooth connectivity, the McIntosh RS150 uses Bluetooth 5.0 supporting both AAC high-speed data transfer and Qualcomm aptX-HD for high-resolution audio playback. It also includes Qualcomm aptX Low Latency to enhance audio transmission speed for syncing audio with corresponding visual media.
Designed with music streaming in mind, the McIntosh RS250 includes nearly everything you need to listen to music streamed from your portable devices, online music services, or local computer. Additionally, you can easily connect a turntable through a dedicated phono input to listen to your vinyl collection. To enhance sound from your TV, the RS250 features an HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) input that connects to ARC-enabled TVs, allowing compatible TVs to send audio data to the McIntosh RS250 via HDMI cable with no need for a separate audio cable. For non-ARC TVs, an optical input is provided for connection.
To enjoy music without streaming, the McIntosh RS250 includes an optical input for connecting digital sources such as CD players, a phono input with a moving magnet cartridge, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting various other music sources. A headphone jack on the front panel allows for individual listening sessions.
The McIntosh RS250 delivers a total power of 650W. Midrange and treble speakers work from the front, while the bass speakers work downward, with sound emanating from just above the base plate of the main body. The bass speaker cabinet has been redesigned to reduce distortions, and a more convenient low-frequency control knob has been added for precise tuning. For even more bass reinforcement, there is an output for an active subwoofer.
