Expert 8K HDMI Connection
The new Marantz CINEMA 40 features seven HDMI inputs and three outputs for all your favorite sources. All inputs support 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz pass-through, Pure Color 4:4:4 subsampling, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, and BT.2020, as well as HDCP 2.3, the latest copy protection standards, on all HDMI inputs. Pre-Amplifier Mode
In Pre-Amplifier Mode, your receiver functions as an ideal AV preamp with the latest HDMI connectivity options. Pre-Amplifier Mode provides a cleaner signal path and greater tolerance to clipping levels by disabling the internal amplifiers. The receiver is equipped with 9.4 channel preamp outputs. You can also selectively disable only the desired speaker channels to utilize the receiver's built-in amplification for non-critical channels, achieving a cleaner signal path for channels controlled by external amplification, such as Front L+R.

With the built-in phono equalizer, you can directly connect your turntable to the MM inputs of the AV receiver and play vinyl records. Two subwoofer modes (standard and directional)
Giving you even more freedom to customize your subwoofer settings when connecting more than 2 subwoofers. Choose "Standard" if you want the bass to be evenly distributed throughout the room. Audyssey sub EQ HT will be engaged to provide a global filter for all subwoofers and give you a wider sweet spot in the room. Choose "Directional" if you want more focused bass to seamlessly integrate with each individual speaker channel closest to each subwoofer. Bass feels different depending on where you are sitting in the room.
Backlit Remote Control
