The bass section consists of two 17-centimeter drivers with cellulose-impregnated diaphragms. Their design is developed according to the proprietary FE-Dynamics principle, where the magnetic system is on ferrite, strong non-magnetic baskets with ventilation for a large voice coil ensure minimal electrical and mechanical losses. Thanks to this, all the energy supplied from the amplifier is converted into mechanical vibrations while preserving the original signal form.
Features:
- Hi-Resolution certification, dual tweeter with fmax technology;
- Woofers and midrange drivers with cast baskets and aluminum and ceramic diaphragms;
- 4-way design with rear bass reflex ports;
- Optimization using Klippel laser equipment;
- Ventilated voice coil for stable operation at any volume;
- Special feet with cones for increased stability and improved sound at low frequencies.
To reduce nonlinear distortions in the design of the drivers, research was also carried out using the Klippel system – the movement of the diaphragm was scanned with a laser beam to identify areas where local deformations occurred. After eliminating the discovered defects, the diaphragms maintain piston motion (with minimal distortion) over a wider frequency range. The bass pair operates in a bass reflex design, with two signature Air-Flex ports on the rear wall. The horn at their outlet prevents the formation of air swirls and, as a result, extraneous sounds. The lower operating limit of the Magnat Signature 707 is stated to be 22 Hz.
Everything mentioned about the woofers also applies to the midrange drivers. They have the same caliber, the same diaphragms, and the same technologies. The only difference is in the moving system mass – it is lighter, providing increased reaction speed. This is important because the driver operates in the frequency range of 400–2800 Hz, where our ears are very sensitive to various sound defects.
The bands in the Magnat Signature 707 are divided by third-order filters with a slope of 24 dB per octave. The phase-linear scheme, assembled from select components, allows for bi-wiring to the amplifier. Two pairs of universal gold-plated high-quality screw terminals.
The enclosures are made of dense MDF with internal bracing to increase rigidity. At the base are spikes with cones. The front panel is glossy, while the sides can be either matte black or matte white. Fabric grills are attached with pegs.
