Description

Magnat MR 780 Hybrid High-End Receiver

The Magnat MR 780 is the complete opposite of the MCD 750 CD player, as it can do almost everything except play CDs.

The Magnat MR 780 features an integrated amplifier with a tube preamplifier stage, a phono preamp, a DAC with USB and SPDIF inputs, an FM/DAB tuner, Bluetooth 4.0 receiver with aptX, a headphone amplifier, and even a three-band equalizer.

At the heart of the Magnat MR 780 are two dual ECC81 triodes working in the preamplifier stage. The amplifier also includes solid-state and digital components, but it is the preamplifier that defines the device's sound character.

Features:

  • Hybrid High-End receiver with tube preamplifier and powerful transistor output stage;
  • High-quality DAB+/FM tuner;
  • Analogue inputs including phono input for high-quality MM cartridges;
  • Digital inputs (2 optical and 2 coaxial) up to 192 kHz / 24 bit resolution;
  • Bluetooth® with aptX®;
  • Sturdy metal enclosure with aluminum front panel controls;
  • DAC with USB and SPDIF inputs;
  • 2x ECC 81/12AT7 tubes.

The transistor output stage delivers 100W per channel into 4 ohms. The amplifier is powered by a powerful toroidal transformer with shielded screening to prevent interference. The preamplifier stage can handle both analogue and digital inputs. The built-in phono preamp works with MM cartridges and has a rumble filter. The SPDIF inputs are serviced by the AKM AK4113 digital receiver, while the USB input features the high-quality XMOS chip for asynchronous data transfer over USB 2.0.

The circuit after the digital receivers uses familiar WM8740 and NE5532 chips, identical to the CD player's DAC and analogue output scheme. This means that when connecting these components, top-quality analogue interconnect cables are essential. The SPDIF input quality can be comparable, but only under optimal circumstances. If you dislike bright displays or hear their negative impact on sound, there is a dedicated display brightness button (which can also turn it off if needed).

Package Includes:

  • Amplifier;
  • Remote control;
  • Power cable.

Словарь терминов
Preamplifier

A preamp is used as a hub to connect other components of the audio system. The preamp can be either integrated, or an autonomous device.

Glossary of terms
yes
The lowest frequency, Hz
6
The highest frequency, kHz

The upper limit of the frequencies reproduced by the device. The human ear hears the standard frequency range: 20 Hz – 20000 Hz.

Bluetooth version

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology that allows you to connect headphones or portable speakers, a stereo system or a soundbar to your smartphone or laptop. For a certain version to work, both devices must support it. The versions differ in data transfer speed, power consumption, securing data transfer, anti-interference ability and range of connection.
