Description

The Mackie ProFX16v3 is an analog mixing console equipped with a USB audio interface and a DSP effects processor. This device belongs to the third generation of the ProFX series of professional mixers and is the middle model in the series, featuring 16 input channels, which include 8 mono and 4 stereo channels. The mixer is ideal for use in theaters, cultural centers, schools and universities, rehearsal spaces, and recording studios.

Channels 1 and 2 are designed with Combo 6.3mm/XLR connectors and can accept microphone, line, and instrument signals. There are nine microphone inputs on XLR connectors, which occupy channels 3 to 14. Each of the microphone inputs is equipped with an Onyx preamplifier with a gain range of up to +60 dB, as well as phantom power. Channels 3-14 have six mono and three stereo line inputs on 6.3mm connectors. The same connectors are used for the insert inputs, which are equipped on channels 1-8. Channel 15/16 has one line input on a 3.5mm connector for connecting portable devices and can also be used for outputting signals from a computer via USB.

All channels, except for the last one, have 3-band equalizers with parametric midrange control (from 100 Hz to 8 kHz) and low-cut filters up to 100 Hz. The last input, 15/16, only has a regular 3-band equalizer with fixed frequency values. Channels 1-8 feature simple compressors controlled by a single knob. Each channel has a volume fader, Mute button, controls for sending signals to the effects processor, three monitor lines, and knobs for panning adjustment. There are two balanced main outputs on XLR and 6.3mm connectors for audio signal output. Additional Control Room, Sub, AUX, and headphone outputs are also provided on 6.3mm connectors, allowing for additional monitor lines, personalized mixes, or separate FX tracks. There is also a 12-segment analog level meter for convenient volume level monitoring at the output.

The DSP processor called GigFX offers the user 24 effects, including reverb, delay, modulation, filters, and overload. The selected preset number is displayed on the built-in LCD screen, and the processor can be remotely turned on and off using an optional footswitch, which has a 3.5mm input. The built-in USB audio interface has 2 inputs and 4 outputs, 24-bit resolution, and the ability to operate at sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz. Connection to a PC is made via a USB-B port, and power is supplied from the mains.

The professional analog mixing console, Mackie ProFX16v3, has a large number of channels and is perfect for live music applications. The model is distinguished by its simple and intuitive control, focused solely on the front panel, has excellent technical characteristics that provide high-quality sound, and is equipped with numerous tools for sound correction and processing. The package includes a USB cable, power cable, as well as licenses for Pro Tools First and Waveform OEM software, and Mackie Musician and Daw Essentials Collection plugin bundles.
