The Mackie MDB is a series of high-quality direct boxes suitable for various applications, known for their low level of introduced noise, quality engineering, and durable construction.
The MDB-1A is an active model with increased headroom, which is necessary when working with a high signal level. The MDB-1A requires 48V phantom power.
This direct box is designed for connecting one instrument, such as a guitar, bass guitar, or keyboard instrument, to a microphone preamplifier for musicians and sound engineers during recording sessions or live performances. It converts the high impedance signal at the instrument level through an unbalanced 6.3mm input into a low impedance signal at the microphone level through a 3-pin XLR connector. The 6.3mm connector allows simultaneous connection to an amplifier or pedalboard.
Features:
- The active DI box circuitry provides an expanded dynamic range, resulting in extremely low levels of noise and interference.
- Parallel Thru outputs on both channels.
- XLR output with ground lift option.
- Low-frequency cut and polarity switch.
- Merge function allows for connecting and summing stereo signals to mono output, perfect for keyboards and media players.
- -20 dB switch for working with high-level signal sources.
- Powered by 48V phantom power.
- Built with the "Tank Tough" design principle.
In the package:
- Direct box.
- Documentation.
