The Klipsch R-50PM is an active wireless version of the passive Klipsch R-50M speakers with built-in digital amplifiers delivering 50W per channel, Bluetooth connectivity, and versatile connectivity options. The speakers have durable, acoustically inert cabinets designed in a minimalist style. Made of MDF and finished with scratch-resistant vinyl wrap in a wood texture, the cabinets feature low-profile grilles for speaker protection. With 20mm thick panels, the construction is rigid and sturdy. The classic design and high-quality construction of the speakers make them a stylish addition to any living space. The round rear-firing port is integrated into the back panel of the speaker.
The Klipsch R-50PM is known for its horn-loaded tweeter, utilizing the updated patented Tractrix horn design. The 25mm aluminum tweeter features a Kapton suspension for linear diaphragm movement (LTS technology), providing detailed, airy sound reproduction at high frequencies.
For low frequencies, the speakers feature a 5.25-inch woofer utilizing technologies found in premium Reference Premiere series speakers. The woofer's diaphragm is made of crystalline polymer with a copper covering for resonance dampening. The woofer is loaded on a rear-firing port to enhance bass response.
Connectivity between the active and passive speakers is done through screw-type terminals and the included cable. The active monitor houses digital amplifiers with low noise levels, a phono preamp, volume control, input selector, and various connectivity options on the rear panel. Input options include RCA, Aux (3.5mm), USB (PCM up to 24bit/96kHz), and optical. The speakers also feature a Sub Out for connecting an active subwoofer.
The Klipsch R-50PM is equipped with a Bluetooth receiver for streaming audio from smartphones, tablets, and other Bluetooth devices. The dynamic EQ enhances bass response, especially at low volumes. The speakers offer a convenient all-in-one solution with a built-in amplifier perfectly matched to the drivers, making them a great alternative to multi-component systems. A small remote control is included in the package.
