URD - the goddess of the past
URD, like any other Kinera product, has a spiritual connection to Scandinavian mythology. Professional acoustic engineers and artists at Kinera conducted research on URD (the goddess of fate). URD is responsible for the past of the gods. She has her own Well right under the World Tree called the URD Well. The design and tuning of the Kinera URD depict URD from Scandinavian mythology.
3D printed volumetric faceplate
The faceplate represents the surface of a lake, and 3D printing is used to create a recess in the middle of the faceplate. The finished faceplate design represents the water surface of the "URD Well," which nourishes the World Tree. The earphone housings, already familiar, are hand-painted by a professional artist. The base colors used are white and green, with elements of stone texture and unique abstract landscapes. Each earphone proudly displays gold Kinera and URD lettering.
8mm dual dynamic driver
The lowest frequencies in the URD are handled by the dual driver with a titanium diaphragm measuring 8mm. Thanks to the meticulous custom tuning by Kinera engineers, the bass reproduction is impressively deep.
The mid-range is skillfully rendered by the Kinera 11021 armature driver, producing pleasant female vocals and powerful magnetic male vocals. Thanks to the custom crossover, the driver seamlessly connects with the bass and high frequencies.
Dual electrostatic transducer
The high-frequency range is handled by the dual Sonion EST65DB01 drivers of the new generation, known for their extended frequency range sound reproduction.
The backward-facing ventilation hole serves for compensation, while the sound guide, with thickening towards the edges and three apertures, is positioned at the front, separately for each type of driver.
Modular silver-plated cable
Thanks to a special shielding structure, the coaxial cable for the headphones has a stable impedance and high sound transmission efficiency. The main Modular signal cable is made of high-purity 6N OCC silver-plated copper. The addition of gold and silver effectively transmits sound details, smoothing out roughness during transient processes. The dense, flexible cable, resistant to tangling, is finished with a special connector for connecting interchangeable plugs.
