The main differences from the previous model are: a new design, improvements to the 3D acoustic chamber, an updated set of accessories, and a balanced cable with a 4.4 mm plug.
Duets Knowles and Sonion
For the Kinera Odin flagship, a combination of transducers from two leading manufacturers – Knowles and Sonion – was used. Knowles has long been known for quality solutions for the mid and high frequencies. This results in a fairly even and balanced sound with a slightly warm tone, good emotional delivery, and attention to the recording. The crossover allows each driver's full potential to be realized.
Sonion transducers
The mids and bass frequencies are handled by two pairs of Sonion 33AJ007J/9 balanced armature transducers. The new design of the BA driver's output port effectively changes the volume of the front cavity and sound phases, solving issues with poor sealing or sound leakage from aligning two nozzles. This solution offers sufficient strength, flexibility, and thickness.
Knowles transducers
For the mid and high frequencies, two Knowles ED-29689 transducers are used, making vocals emotional, bright, but not sharp. For ultra-high frequencies, two Knowles SWFK-31736-000 transducers are used. The SWFL series are BA transducers that handle high frequencies with excellent and stable flexibility, providing reverberations and a wide range.
Kinera Odin provides owners with sound that is natural and realistically clear. The bass is deep, vocals are natural and lively, and the high frequencies have smooth texture and excellent control even at higher volumes. The Odin reproduces micro-details without sharpness even at higher volumes.
Design
The housing is compact for an eight-driver design and made of medical-grade acrylic (available in black and purple) with a glossy surface and a stylish lightning pattern.
Detachable silver-plated cable
The Kinera Imperial Odin uses a universal 2-pin (0.78mm) interface for cables. The included cable is made of high-quality silver-plated 6N OCC copper with a PVC outer jacket, comfortable to wear and effectively reducing the stethoscope effect.
The cable supplied with the headphones has a 4.4mm balanced plug, unlocking its full potential when connected to a balanced source. However, if the listener does not have a player or amplifier with this connector, included adapters allow for use with 3.5mm or balanced 2.5mm.
