HIFIMAN Prelude Balanced Headphone Amplifier
The HIFIMAN Prelude is the latest headphone amplifier with a fully balanced Class A discrete circuit on MOS-FET with a field-effect transistor, providing power that ensures a clean and accurate sound on any headphones.
Features:
- Frequency range of 20 Hz - 50000 Hz;
- Made with discrete components and operating in pure Class A;
- Enclosure made from a solid piece of aluminum.
HIFIMAN has introduced the new fully balanced Goldenwave Prelude headphone amplifier, made with discrete components and operating in pure Class A. This new product is the result of HIFIMAN acquiring the Goldenwave brand earlier in 2023. The manufacturer positions the HIFIMAN Prelude as a reference headphone amplifier.
The fully balanced output signal on MOS-FET Class A with high output current. The fully discrete architecture is equipped with a precise unsymmetrical conversion scheme, making the unsymmetrical RCA input fully balanced. The input cascade uses a fully symmetrical amplifier architecture with accurate unsymmetrical/symmetrical conversion. The enclosure is made from a solid piece of aluminum, helping isolate resonances that negatively impact the output audio signal.
The amplifier circuit is built entirely on discrete components, meaning individual components are used rather than integrated circuits. The amplifier features a precision conversion scheme from unsymmetrical to symmetrical signals, allowing the use of both unsymmetrical RCA inputs and symmetrical XLR inputs to fully realize the potential of the balanced circuitry of the Goldenwave Prelude.
Specially designed for the Prelude, a powerful and low-noise toroidal transformer ensures clean and stable power to all amplifier subsystems, improving sound quality. The amplifier enclosure is made from a single aluminum billet to help compensate for vibrations and resonances that could degrade sound quality.
