The built-in analog-to-digital converter uses the latest technologies to ensure accurate conversion with user-selectable sample rates. The Super 8 can act as both a master or slave device, with BNC input and output for reliable synchronization. It even offers an alternative connection option to the converter via DB25 connector, expanding device usability.
The Super 8 is a compact solution for scenarios requiring multiple high-quality preamps and top-notch conversion. Drawing on their experience creating Class A 73 preamps, Heritage Audio managed to fit 8 microphone/line preamps in a sturdy 2-unit rack. All 8 channels feature a three-stage all Class A design with Carnhill transformers at the input and output. The first two channels also have high-quality JFET D.I., as well as fully adjustable Lo-cut filters. All 8 channels include switches for 48V phantom power, line, pad (-3 dB at 82 Hz), and phase.
There is built-in analog-to-digital conversion available for 3 different digital formats: ADAT, AES/EBU, and SPDIF with BNC connectors for reliable word clock synchronization. Sample rates range from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz.
The microphone/line preamp outputs can not only be directly fed to the ADC, but there is also the option to select an alternate input for each channel for digital conversion, making this device extremely flexible. This can be useful if you need to route the preamps to an equalizer or compressor before sending them back for digital conversion.
