The Heritage Audio DMA 73 is a top-of-the-line preamplifier with a dual mono/stereo microphone that has no analogs on the market. No other major brand offers the same level of authenticity, quality of construction, and sound. The DMA 73 is completely hand-assembled at Heritage Audio's production facility in Madrid, Spain.
Features:
- Vintage sound based on the classic Neve 1073 model, adapted for the modern studio.
- Direct input for instruments.
- Ability to add analog warmth to digital sounds.
- Preamp suitable for dynamic and ribbon microphones, with a high level of input gain.
The DMA 73 is a true dual-stage three-stage microphone preamplifier in the classic 73 series style, implemented in a single rack unit format (1U). It combines vintage precision and modern features to meet all the requirements of modern producers, engineers, and musicians.
Created exclusively based on discrete analog circuitry and traditional components, this preamplifier is a genuine Class A representative with powerful, clean, and warm signal transmission. Exclusive styrene and tantalum polymer capacitors are used in the design to provide maximum detail and natural sound.
The input transformers for the DMA 73 are handmade exclusively for Heritage Audio at Carnhill factories - one in Oxford and the other in St. Ives. They are installed in vintage green metal enclosures, emphasizing their character and giving the device a unique atmosphere. No simulated "vintage" sound - only real vintage sound that you won't find with any other brand.
The preamplifier's line mode is ideal for reamping previously recorded tracks, adding a lively, dense, and deep vintage Class A style. A real input microphone transformer is used here, making it especially valuable for those seeking authentic sound without compromise.
The DI chain is a fully discrete Class A JFET circuit installed before the microphone transformer. This allows for preserving the natural balance and texture of the signal without compromising the basic principles of analog sound. The DI mode has become a classic among Heritage Audio users - since its introduction in 2012, it has become the standard for direct bass guitar recording.
The output transformer is Carnhill, specially developed for Heritage Audio at the St. Ives factory. It reproduces all the richness of harmonics, saturation, and dynamics that make our products unique. The input transformer, also exclusive, is created at the Carnhill factory in Oxford. It gives the signal additional smoothness, warmth, and musicality, creating that "live" connection between the source and your monitors.
The transformers used are the same as those in the more expensive series 80 modules. They are what define one of the main distinguishing features of the DMA 73 - the "sound-shaping" difference that competitors do not have.
The Heritage Audio DMA 73 is not just a preamplifier. It is a vintage time machine that revives the spirit of the 70s, adapting it for modern studio tasks. This is a device that makes you hear more, feel deeper, and play better. For those who appreciate honest, dense, and live sound - this is the only choice.
