The Heritage Audio 8173 module is designed specifically to be installed in the input slots of classic 80 series mixing console frames. It is also compatible with Heritage Audio Frame 8 and Rack 2 enclosures, making it a versatile solution for modern studio setups.

- Switchable high-pass filter at 50 Hz, 80 Hz, and 300 Hz.
The 8173 can be seen as a hybrid of legendary models: combining the sound of Neve 1073 with the equalization capabilities of Neve 1081. Heritage Audio retained the low and high-frequency equalization bands in Baxandall design from the 1073, known for their stunning sound. For the mid frequencies, however, three options for the high shelf filter setting inspired by the 1084 architecture were implemented, adding even more flexibility to signal processing.
To achieve maximum fidelity to the original, special attention was paid to component selection. Custom polystyrene and polyethylene film capacitors were created to faithfully reproduce the characteristics of the famous Siemens Styroflex and Mullard Mustard caps from the 60s and 70s. Input transformers were jointly developed with Carnhill Transformers in Oxford to meet Heritage's specific requirements for harmonic distortion content and saturation thresholds.
Each Heritage Audio 8173 module is fully hand-assembled at the company's production facilities in Spain. Traditional assembly and soldering methods from the 70s are used, ensuring not only high quality but also a unique atmosphere of true analog craftsmanship. The module's electronics are spread across five interchangeable PCBs, facilitating maintenance and upgrades.
The Heritage Audio 8173 is entirely handcrafted and hand-wired by our most experienced technicians at our facilities in Spain, using the same wiring and soldering methods as in the 70s. Its circuitry relies on 5 insertable cards.
