The Heritage Audio 73 Jr. II is a 500 series microphone preamplifier based on the legendary 1073 preamplifier. It is an update of the classic 73JR model with some additional features. Utilizing a discrete circuit and traditional components, the 73 Jr. II is a precise three-stage class A preamplifier with up to 80 dB of gain, and a noise level of -125 dBu. The fully discrete high-pass filter class A has been updated and can be adjusted from 20 to 220 Hz, allowing low frequencies to be more expressive without affecting the desired frequencies.
Features:
- High-quality microphone preamplifier and DI based on the classic 1073
- Up to 80 dB gain for microphone input, 50 dB for British-style line input
- Fully discrete class A circuit
- Class A discrete JFET DI mode with auto-switching
- Line input
- Phase inversion
- High-pass filter with adjustable range from 20 to 220 Hz
- +48V phantom power
- Separate gain controls for input and output
- Custom Carnhill output transformer
- Custom Carnhill input transformer
The Line mode allows for overdubbing pre-recorded tracks and is perfect for adding color to lifeless recordings. The intelligent switching D.I. automatically switches from MIC mode to D.I. mode when connected to a 1/4" jack, featuring a fully discrete JFET class A circuit before the MIC transformer.
Special attention was given to power management, with internal slow +24V start-up regulation (approximately 20 seconds to reach full voltage). This allows the 73 Jr. II to be independent of other slots and makes the 500 series power supply unit more stable. Carnhill transformers in the input and output stages add warmth and character to your sounds. The gain level and output level are independent, allowing for rich saturation without limiting levels.
Package includes:
- Preamplifier
- Manual.
