If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is the fourth studio album by American singer Halsey, released on August 27, 2021, via Capitol Records. It was written by Halsey, Jonathan Cunningham, Greg Karstin, and produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. The record features guest appearances by Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac). Halsey described the project as "a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth."
The album combines music from genres such as alternative rock, grunge, pop punk and industrial with an all-encompassing cinematic mood. The songs also feature elements of synth-pop, ambient, noise rock, drum and bass and hip-hop. Critics called the album a departure from the arena-pop sound of Halsey's previous albums. "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" received positive reviews from music critics and online publications. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.
