High-quality RP Driver mk2 with optimized diaphragm movement through air damping control
The premium-class RP driver, developed using the largest diaphragm ever used in a fully controlled flat membrane driver based on RP technology perfected since 1974, has been further optimized using mk2 technology through air damping control inside the driver, regulating airflow using damping materials and new ear pads. This ensures ideal diaphragm amplitude, particularly in the low-frequency range. The large diaphragm and magnetic scheme of the Premium RP driver suppress unwanted resonance, providing clear response, high sensitivity, smooth frequency characteristics, and excellent transient characteristics. In addition, the mk2 version provides accurate and clear reproduction of sound images from the low-frequency to high-frequency range in a space with precise localization.
Body made of solid maple
The body made of solid maple, known as a material for guitars, is painted with Awa Aizome paint from Tokushima, which has long been valued for its high-quality coloring. Wood is carefully colored one by one by experienced masters, resulting in a deep indigo color that perfectly reveals the unique texture of solid maple wood. Coloring with Aizome, made exclusively from indigo plants, allows the use of the density and specific weight of solid maple, which do not give the sound unnecessary shades, allowing the player to reproduce stable, deep bass and a clean, extended high-frequency range.
Awa Aizome Indigo painting
The body made of solid maple is finished with traditional Japanese Awa Aizome paint, developed in collaboration with local masters. Awa Aizome indigo, valued since ancient times for its high-quality coloring, was developed in collaboration with Awa indigo masters and used to color the body of solid maple, known as a guitar material. Each item is carefully painted by experienced masters, resulting in a deep blue indigo color that beautifully emphasizes the unique texture of solid maple. With the use of "Hon-ai" made exclusively from plant-based indigo, the properties of solid maple with high density are utilized, which do not give an excessive tonal color, providing stable, deep low-frequency range, and a clean, resonant high-frequency range.
Application of lightweight magnesium alloy material
The updated design of mechanical parts, such as the support loops of the body and headband, made of magnesium alloy, reduces the overall weight by 20% compared to aluminum. Rubber padding is used to eliminate excess vibration in the pivot mechanism. The design concept, taking into account every detail, further enhances wearing comfort.
New mk2 ear pads have a new shape and a two-layer inner structure
The new mk2 ear pads have a sloping design on the side that fits the face, ensuring maximum comfort. The low-density polyurethane inner layer has a two-layer structure: soft on the outside and highly elastic on the inside to match the shape of the face. In addition, the use of protein-based synthetic leather, which is three times stronger than the previous model, provides comfortable wearing even during long listening sessions.
