Fostex T50RP MK4 Closed Headphones - closed-back headphones with passive noise isolation and fourth-generation planar magnetic drivers. The basis of these headphones are the fourth-generation planar magnetic drivers, hence the MK4 prefix in the name. The first generation of these drivers was released over 50 years ago, and since then, this technology has been continually refined. The latest version features an increased number of magnets, optimizing the magnetic field shape, and a redesigned flat coil design to expand the vibration zone of the flat diaphragm.
Features:
- The driver's patented diaphragm Regular Phase (RP) uses foil with copper etching, polyamide film, and powerful neodymium magnet.
- Maximum input power of 3000 mW allows for versatile professional use.
- Enhanced earpads and headphone design provide maximum comfort.
- Balanced connection capability.
Closed-back Noise-Isolating Version:
The T50RPmk4CL is the latest model in the T50RPMMK4 series with a closed-back panel that has been adopted by professional music studios worldwide for over 50 years. Equipped with the fourth-generation RP driver, the T50RPmk4 delivers a tight sound monitoring that suppresses sound leakage during studio vocal recording, instrument tracking, and mixing. These headphones can be used as closed-back headphones with accurate sound reproduction typical of RP drivers.
Sealed Housing:
Based on the semi-open T50RPmk4 housing, the T50RPmk4CL features meticulous sound isolation for each ventilation part and sound balance tuning. The sealed design allows for more focused tracking of the rich original sound. The internal housing shape of both T50RPmk4CL and T50RPmk4 models is identical, allowing you to choose between closed or semi-open types depending on your work environment, from recording to mixing, without worrying about sound differences.
Fourth-generation RP Driver:
Featuring a significantly updated RP driver with a flat diaphragm controlled by a full field, the RP driver has been used in various models, recognized by musicians and engineers worldwide as monitor headphones. The fourth-generation RP headphones incorporate the traditional RP driver and a new housing design that further enhances the flat diaphragm sound.
The RP technology features a planar magnetic drive, first developed over 50 years ago and continuously refined over the years. The new coil shape was used to expand and align the vibration zone of the flat diaphragm. Additionally, the number of magnets connecting the membrane has been increased significantly. The magnetic chain components were also redesigned to optimize magnetic flux distribution, suppress unwanted resonance, and achieve even better transient response.
Balanced Connection:
Both left and right housings are equipped with connectors for the included cable, allowing the cable to be connected from either side depending on the operating conditions. By symmetrically positioning the left and right housings, differences in sound characteristics due to variations in the internal construction of the side panels have been eliminated. The connector features a 3.5mm 4-pole jack that supports balanced connections, enhancing ease of use and versatility. High-quality OFC conductors are used in the cable.
Comfortable Earpads:
The new thicker earpads have low elasticity and fit snugly around the ear, providing comfortable wearing even during extended listening sessions.
Package includes:
- Headphones
- Cable
