The fourth-generation RP driver
These headphones come equipped with a significantly updated RP driver featuring a flat diaphragm controlled by a full field, originally developed by Fostex. RP drivers have been used in various models and have been recognized by musicians and studio engineers worldwide as monitoring headphones. The fourth-generation RP headphones represent the next evolution of RP headphones, incorporating the traditional RP driver and a new housing design that further enhances the sound of the flat diaphragm.
The RP technology planar magnetic drive, initially developed over 50 years ago and continuously refined over many years, is now in its fourth generation. A new printed coil shape was used to expand and align the vibration zone of the flat diaphragm. Additionally, the number of magnets connecting the membrane was significantly increased. Furthermore, the magnetic circuit components were redesigned to optimize magnetic flux distribution, suppress unwanted resonance, and achieve even better transient response.
The fourth-generation driver, developed using various technologies refined over many years, simultaneously provides increased sensitivity, smooth frequency response, and superior transient characteristics. With precise and delicate reproduction across the frequency spectrum, the soundstage and localization have also been improved. The new driver is also more efficient, requiring less power from the headphone amplifier to achieve maximum performance.
Balanced Connection
Both the left and right housings are equipped with connectors for the included cable, allowing the cable to be connected on either side, depending on the operational conditions. Additionally, the symmetrical positioning of the left and right housings eliminates differences in sound characteristics typically caused by variations in the internal construction of the side panels. The connector features a 4-pole 3.5mm diameter jack that supports balanced connections, enhancing usability and versatility. High-quality OFC conductors are used in the cable.
Comfortable Cushions
The new, thicker cushions have low elasticity and snugly fit around the ear, providing a comfortable fit, making them suitable for extended listening sessions.
