Sound Detailing:
Focal's unique Slatefiber cone is made in France from recycled carbon fiber, filling a two-layer sandwich construction of thermoplastic polymer.
To achieve impeccable sound quality, Focal engineers selected unidirectional carbon fiber, increasing rigidity, improving damping properties, and adding lightness to the design. These three pillars uphold the quality of a high-performance speaker system. The exclusive Slatefiber cone is used in various models of home, studio, and car audio by Focal, known for its rich, dynamic, and balanced sound.
Outstanding High-Frequency Quality:
Made at the Focal factory in France, the TNF tweeter made of aluminum and magnesium with an inverted dome ensures purity and smoothness in high frequencies. The dome's suspension is made of Poron polyurethane with shape memory effect, the same suspension used in the renowned beryllium tweeter of Utopia speaker systems. It reduces distortions by a third in the 2000 to 3000 Hz range, which is most sensitive to the human ear. The tweeter used in the Theva series provides an impressive soundstage stability.
