The Focal Sopra №2 speaker system is equipped with a 27mm tweeter, featuring a very rigid ultra-lightweight concave dome coated in beryllium. The tweeter is housed in a module made of durable damping material - thermomolded polyurethane. The module includes a rear chamber, shaped like a reversed horn (IHL technology). The chamber absorbs waves emitted by the back of the dome membrane, minimizing distortions and lowering the resonance frequency. As a result, clean sound with excellent dynamics and high resolution is guaranteed. A mini-grille protects the tweeter, and the module rear is covered with a metal grille.
The Focal Sopra №2 utilizes a pair of 180mm woofers, providing dense, deep, and well-controlled bass. The woofers feature W-cones, consisting of a layer of special foamed material reinforced on both sides with thin layers of fiberglass. This lightweight sandwich construction achieves high rigidity and improves internal damping. The NIC technology stabilizes the magnetic field in which the coil is located, enhancing dynamics and reducing distortions. In the slightly forward-leaning upper part of the cabinet, a 165mm midrange driver with a similar W-cone construction and NIC technology is integrated. The suspension of the midrange driver has thickened sections acting as mass dampers (TMD technology), eliminating parasitic resonances caused by membrane movement.
The module with the integrated tweeter provides a slight forward tilt of the upper part of the speaker, while the lower part of the column is slightly tilted back. As a result, the waves emitted by all drivers reach the listening position at the same time (Focus Time technology). The thick 69mm front panel of the speaker has a sandwich structure, improving damping. The side panels are non-parallel, and Helmholtz resonators are installed in the lower part of the cabinet, addressing internal standing wave issues. The ported phase inverter is integrated into the speaker's base, directed towards the tempered glass base with built-in adjustable stainless steel spikes.
The Focal Sopra №2 speakers feature a modern ergonomic design and are available in glossy lacquer or natural veneer. The model is ideal for rooms up to 30 sq.m, and can easily handle spaces up to 70 sq.m.
