The Focal Shape TWIN is a nearfield 2-way studio monitor. The monitor configuration is 2.5-way. It is designed to provide monitoring accuracy for sound engineers, producers, and musicians in home, project, and commercial studios.
The device features a 1" inverted dome tweeter and two 5" flax cone drivers - the lower driver covering frequencies from 40 to 180 Hz, and the upper driver from 40 Hz to 2.5 kHz. Each speaker component is powered by Class AB amplification.
A dual 8" passive radiator provides extended low-frequency response, allowing for placement near walls. Input connectors include balanced 3-pin XLR and unbalanced coaxial RCA on the rear panel. Additionally, there is a 3-band EQ with adjustable high-frequency filter on the rear panel.
Considering its size, the Shape Twin stands out with excellent readability across the entire frequency spectrum, impressive low-frequency response, and high SPL. Its compact design allows for easy integration even in small spaces. Lastly, its 2.5-way configuration gives it a significant advantage when it comes to monitoring low mids and low frequencies, which are particularly challenging to control in smaller rooms.
