The Focal Scala Utopia EVO features an improved midrange driver with a "neutral inductive contour" (NIC) and a TMD ring on a rubber suspension, which acts as a mass damper. Each of the three isolated sections is designed for its driver: a 6.5-inch midrange in the upper section, a beryllium tweeter IAL2 in the middle, and an 11-inch woofer in the lower section.
The laminar port of the bass reflex is located between the bottom of the cabinet and a massive platform that isolates the speaker from the floor. The Focus Time principle is implemented in the system to minimize temporal dispersion, with the midrange and tweeter sections slightly tilted forward. Through the use of Beryllium technology in the diaphragms, the speaker provides high detail, accuracy, and purity of sound across the entire range. With an extended frequency range from 28 Hz to 40 kHz, the speaker can reproduce audio content in its entirety.
Equipped with a new generation switch panel, the Focal Scala Utopia EVO allows for Bi-amping connection for personalized sound tuning. The best components, including custom-made internal wiring cables from France, denser damping material for the woofer section, dual-cable connections, and separate crossovers, have all found their place in this model.
The front and side panels of the speaker are lacquered in the same color. Details are also important; the black color is reflected in the graphite-black trim of the drivers and tweeter housing. These color combinations ensure a cohesive design, more harmonious and understated, highlighting the originality of the new finish options.
