Beryllium and Flax
For the first time, a speaker with a Flax cone sandwich diffuser is combined with a beryllium tweeter. Flax has the perfect combination of low mass, stiffness, and damping, providing clarity and precision in sound. This unique combination of Flax and beryllium creates warmth and musicality in the music. The Flax diffuser made in France and patented has already proven itself in Focal studio, home, and car speakers. The midrange driver uses TMD (Tuned Mass Damping) suspension, and each Kanta speaker is equipped with a magnetic system with NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) for stable magnetic field and perfect sound quality and bass control.
High-Density Polymer
Everything is designed to create a warm and soft sound: the density and rigidity of the front panel and body materials, the curved edges of the enclosure, and the dual ported phase inverter. The front panel is made of a new material to improve acoustic parameters. It is entirely cast from high-density polymer (HDP). This material has excellent properties: it is 70% denser, 15% stiffer, and provides 25% more damping than MDF. The unique-shaped front panel eliminates any diffraction effects. Kanta features Power Flow technology with 2 ports on the front and rear panels to reduce bass compression.
No Distortions
Focal's research is focused on reducing distortions in every frequency range. In Kanta, high frequencies are reproduced by a new tweeter with a pure beryllium membrane. This IAL3 tweeter combines the functions of IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) and IHL (Infinite Horn Loading), which help absorb the rear radiation of the membrane, thereby reducing the resonance frequency.
Sound and Style!
Focal engineers have redesigned the "Focus Time" technology, which corrects the positioning of the drivers, placing them at an equal distance from the listener. The body is made from a single piece of wood. The Zamac base is also crucial. Thanks to the spikes and the stands underneath them, the base provides excellent stability with very little footprint. Final details include a glass top and grills with magnetic fastening. When removed, you can enjoy the natural uniqueness of each Flax cone driver - a final design touch that gives the Kanta series its unique look.
