• Incredibly simple to use

  DIVA UTOPIA is extremely easy to install and use. It offers a new way to enjoy music, films and video games. There is no need for cabling between the two units, nor for any external amplification solution. The two loudspeakers play music perfectly: imperceptible latency, just remarkable precision. Listeners can control DIVA UTOPIA using either the Focal & Naim app, remote control, or voice assistants (Google Assistant, Siri), making it even more simple and versatile to use.

• The connected home

  The loudspeaker connects with all home automation systems, including Control4, Crestron, Savant and RTI or Homekit and Google Home. Syncing with various smart appliances, programming morning routines, activating music in time with the blinds—with DIVA UTOPIA, all of these actions are not just possible in your home but are also accompanied by the highest quality sound.

  The connectivity DIVA UTOPIA provides is just as impressive across a full multiroom configuration—in other words, integrated within a complete home music ecosystem. With the Focal & Naim app, it is incredibly easy to control your music, either consistently across the system or independently for specific living areas, using connected Naim streaming devices.

Incomparable high resolution

One of the stand-out features of the DIVA UTOPIA is its Ultra Wideband (UWB): a technology co-developed with a trusted partner and unique in the audio world. Its wide bandwidth and exclusive innovations guarantee an exceptionally precise, stable wireless connection with imperceptible latency. The sound reproduction it offers is superior to CD quality, equivalent to Hi-Res audio (96kHz/24bits). With no signal loss or compression, the sound produced is of exceptional quality and detail, as though the loudspeakers were connected by the very best-quality cables.

But that’s not all: they can also be connected using a Hi-Res Link cable providing quality worthy of recording studios (192kHz/24bits). The Intelligent Dynamics Clocking (IDC) innovation controls the loudspeaker's internal clock to ensure its components are perfectly synchronised. Data is transferred between the two loudspeakers with impressive speed, reliability and precision.

• Focal technologies

  The speaker driver and hi-fi loudspeaker have been at the heart of Focal’s activities since 1979. Acoustic engineers have brought together their best innovations for DIVA UTOPIA, comprising a 6.5" midbass with a 'W' cone and four 6.5" 'W' bass woofers positioned on the sides in a push-push configuration to create an optimal emissive surface.

  'W' cone

  Created in 1995, this sandwich cone comprises two layers of glass fibre affixed to each side of a central foam core; a construction that provides optimal control of the key parameters for a high-quality speaker driver: lightness, rigidity and damping. This cone optimises the frequency response curve to perfection, delivering a low distortion rate and a fully transparent listening experience. The resulting sound offers ultimate precision.

  'M'-profile beryllium tweeter

  For the treble, Focal has developed a tweeter that combines the strengths of its famous beryllium tweeter (2002) with those of the 'M' profile. This tweeter represents an exceptional improvement in terms of the precise, clear sound it produces. The 'M' shape of the dome allows optimal dispersion of high frequencies, guaranteeing a wide soundstage. Beryllium, meanwhile, is renowned for its exceptionally light yet rigid quality and minimises distortion while reproducing the tiniest nuance with remarkable fidelity.

  IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) technology

  This innovation optimises tweeter performance by precisely controlling the acoustic pressure behind the dome. It reduces resonance and distortion considerably for a pure, clear sound of unrivalled quality.

  TMD surround

  Increasing the damping of a speaker driver surround often results in increased mass, altering the sound definition as a result. In 2015, Focal found a solution with its TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) technology. The principle? An additional mass oscillates in opposition to the resonance to allow for increased control. This Tuned Mass Damper stabilises the behaviour of the surround to avoid cone deformations that lead to distortion, thereby preserving dynamics and increasing definition.

• Naim technologies

  For the electronics in this product, Focal naturally called upon its sister brand from within the Vervent Audio group: Naim Audio. Since 1973, Naim has been designing and manufacturing some of the best streamers, amplifiers, servers and all-in-one players in the world. Naim engineers developed all the electronics specifically for DIVA UTOPIA, to optimize the acoustic-electronic matching.

  Class AB amplification

  DIVA UTOPIA has inherited the best technologies Naim has to offer, starting with its integrated Class AB amplification solution with 400 Watts of power per speaker, designed specially to supply this loudspeaker. The Class AB widely used in hi-fi for its high quality acoustic performance, has been integrated into an active system for optimized performance, stability and dynamics.

  DAC, DSP, HEATSINK, AND MORE

  Together, the ultra high-performance DAC (Digital Analog Converter) —providing a converted signal with no losses—and the DSP (Digital Signal Processor)—for optimised digital filtering—guarantee perfect signal processing for even greater transparency.

  To control the heat emissions, the heatsink used has been lifted from Naim’s world-class Statement amplifier. Made from anodised aluminium, it sits behind the loudspeaker to keep each component at an ideal operating temperature, ensuring the reliability and longevity of the loudspeakers. It is combined with compressor-limiter technology that has been specially designed for Focal speaker drivers and Naim electronics, allowing users to turn up the volume without fear of damaging the loudspeakers.

• Extended connectivity

  DIVA UTOPIA combines Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and UPnP™ technology for flawless connectivity. With the option to play music, withing the Focal & Naim application, from streaming platforms such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz or QQ Music (China), it's never been easier to access your favourite tracks. The loudspeaker can also be connected to the television using an optical or HDMI eARC input to produce cinema-quality sound. To further enhance compatibility, the RCA line input can connect to a phono preamplifier for sublime vinyl listening sessions.

• Focal & naim app

  Focal and Naim have designed an intuitive app that lets you easily control one or more products, including DIVA UTOPIA. Thanks to the app's optimised features, users can not only access their music quickly and easily, in addition to their favourite streaming platforms and radio stations—all in high resolution, they can also customise their listening experience.
