This speaker with two separate bands consists of a 165 mm Mid/Bass driver with a Flax membrane and a tweeter with an inverted dome made of aluminum-magnesium alloy. The Flax technology, exclusively owned by Focal, is based on the use of environmentally friendly linen-based fabric. The Flax membranes, consisting of a fiber core covered with two layers of fiberglass, exhibit amazing acoustic rigidity while being lightweight. They rival the famous W membranes used in the Utopia III, Sopra, and Electra 1000 Be 2 lines, providing remarkable neutrality and clarity of sound.
