Japanese audiophile headphone brand Final introduces its flagship true wireless earbuds - TONALITE. This model embodies 50 years of the brand's research in the field of acoustics and nine years of research in wireless audio technology, representing the greatest technological breakthrough in the history of Final's wireless earbuds development.
At the core of TONALITE are key concepts such as "purity, delicacy, and realism." With the lowest level of harmonic distortion ever measured in true wireless earbuds, a 10mm f-shaped core for the DTAS dynamic driver inherited from the flagship wired A10000, and the scientists-based Digital Twin Audio Simulation (D.T.A.S) technology, an unprecedented individual natural tonality of Hi-Fi sound is achieved, a digital acoustic modeling system based on twins.
The lowest distortions in the history of wireless earbuds.
Before discussing the tuning, it is necessary to determine if the driver and the acoustic structure as a whole can provide "complete absence of self-distortions." The development of TONALITE is based on Final's long-standing research in speaker design and damping control, which directly inherited key technologies from the flagship wired A10000 to create an acoustic system with extremely low distortion levels and high sound stability.
Thanks to new drivers, housings, and tuning strategies, TONALITE provides the lowest level of total harmonic distortion ever observed in wireless communication. Its distortion curve remains extremely flat across the entire frequency range, approaching the ideal "straight line," and maintains remarkably low distortion even in the ultra-low frequency range, which is usually the most difficult to control in headphones.
This kind of "purity" is not only about impressive measurements; it is expressed in noticeable clarity without adding "anything extra." Clean, but not muddy bass, stable but not agitated mid-frequencies, and airy but not harsh high frequencies - all of this creates a solid physical foundation for subsequent "delicacy" and "realism."
10mm f-shaped core for the DTA driver
The 10mm dynamic driver f-CORE for DTA used in TONALITE is a next-generation device redesigned specifically for True Wireless architecture and based on the flagship pure diamond diaphragm technology introduced in the A10000. A large 10mm driver: extremely rare in true wireless earbuds, providing a genuine physical sensation of air movement at low frequencies while maintaining high resolution and speed. Flagship-level low-distortion structure: uses the f-CORE for DTA driver system, consisting of both active and passive components, ensuring incredibly low distortion. Deep integration with D.T.A.S. The driver's response was specially designed to interact with the D.T.A.S algorithms, providing precise reproduction of individual tonal characteristics.
D.T.A.S. Personalized acoustics technology for realistic sound
No matter how excellent the drivers and acoustic structure are, traditional headphones still face a fundamental problem: there is a huge gap between what they reproduce and what we are "used to hearing" in the real world. The reason is that the sound we hear in everyday life is entirely different from the sound reproduced "directly into the ear canal" by headphones.
To fill this gap, TONALITE uses the latest generation Final personalized acoustic technology - D.T.A.S. (Digital Twin Audio Simulation). It is the industry's only tuning solution based on real human body scanning and modeling. This technology was developed based on the research of Final's chief technical consultant Mr. Kimio Hamasaki. In August 2025, D.T.A.S. was presented at the Audio Engineering Society's technical conference in Finland, where it was introduced to many leading global acoustic scientists and received recognition from the professional audio community.
How D.T.A.S. technology works
3D scanning to recreate your acoustic "twin" in the virtual world. Instead of traditional manual tuning, D.T.A.S. uses the most direct and scientific approach: it restores the influence of your own body, head, and ear shape on the sound reproduced by the headphones, eliminating the "coloration" introduced by manual tuning, and allowing you to hear genuine music reproduced in the headphones. It's like creating a pair of glasses tailored to your own vision so you can truly focus the image from scratch.
Two tuning modes are available to improve listening quality:
D.T.A.S. General (universal mode). For users who do not want to undergo personal scanning, TONALITE offers a general tuning mode based on large-scale real measurements of people, refined by the Final team in accordance with the brand's characteristic musicality. Out of the box, you get natural, non-fatiguing sound with musical warmth and character. D.T.A.S. Personalized (Personalized mode). After a simple scanning process, the sound in the headphones will be much closer to what you hear in the real world: the sound no longer feels trapped in your head, but naturally spreads forward and outward; the low frequencies create a real sense of air movement; the high frequencies are bright but not piercing; typical "headphone coloration" is significantly reduced.
During the testing of the TONALITE prototype, several professional music producers have already described it as "good enough to be used as a reference in sound recording," indicating that its "realism" is not only ideal for enjoying music, but also has great potential for professional use.
Flagship-class active noise-cancelling system
At the heart of the TONALITE active noise-cancelling system is the flagship Sony ANC chip, equipped with three high-precision MEMS microphones on each side for capturing and processing surrounding noise in real-time. The standard package includes Final's three-component Fusion-G ear tips. These ear tips are made from three types of silicone with different characteristics, providing exceptional softness and comfort, as well as superior passive isolation. They effectively block out high-frequency ambient noise, providing excellent physical sealing as the basis for outstanding active noise cancellation.
Japanese design philosophy of TONALITE
At the core of the overall design philosophy of TONALITE is the principle of "long-term use." Final engineers believe that both sound and appearance should withstand the test of time to truly fit into the user's everyday life. As for the form, Final chose a completely rounded, angle-free, understated design inspired by the minimalist aesthetics of the Japanese philosophy "MUJI." Final understands that the shape and size of the outer ear are different for everyone; only by removing all edges and corners can comfortable wearing without pressure be provided to all users. This design approach, based on "long-term comfort" and "intuitively understandable simplicity of use," perfectly matches the sound philosophy of TONALITE, with its "purity, delicacy, and realism," creating a sense of "lightness in listening and wearing", and a durable and ideal tool for listening.
Package includes:
- Earbuds
- Charging case
- Extra ear tips
- Two sizes of adjustment rings for different ear shapes
- Manual.
