EarMan ST-Amp is a fully balanced desktop headphone amplifier with a preamp option and built-in DAC. It delivers exceptional sound quality, whether it is used with the built-in DAC or an external one, which is a priority for those who want to have everything in one device. The amplifier has protection against unpleasant pops and clicks when turning it on or off.
Features:
- High output power
- Preamp function
- Built-in USB DAC
- Ultra-low distortion
Balanced amplification even for a 6.3 mm output
The amplifier operates on a balanced circuit, which means the input signal becomes even cleaner and of higher quality. The same topology is used for the single 6.3 mm output, enabling balanced amplification without phase shift, additional noise, or distortions. Therefore, the sound from the 6.3 mm output is on par in terms of quality with the sound from the balanced output.
The headphone output is powered by two TPA6120 operational amplifiers, which have received high praise in the audiophile world. To ensure comprehensive amplification, the ST-Amp incorporates a high-quality balanced potentiometer from ALPS, which helps maintain consistent sound and ensures the satisfaction of the owner.
Sound capabilities
The ST-Amp does not influence the sound in a way that would enhance the distinctive character of your DAC. Although many DACs have excellent technical specifications, they alone are not enough for the sound to fully manifest itself. The ST-Amp utilizes the maximum potential of the dynamic range, revealing every detail of the audio source, so you won't miss a single nuance. Moreover, it effortlessly drives various headphones, thereby enhancing accuracy, neutrality, and transparency during listening.
The amplifier boasts high output power, providing 4V and 500mW into a 32-ohm load when connected to the SE output (6.3mm). With an impressive 7.75V and 1.85W into a 32-ohm load on the balanced output (4.4mm Pentaconn), it can easily drive even complex planar magnetic headphones.

Dynamic Range
A dynamic range greater than 121 dB guarantees you a vibrant sound and musicality, allowing you to never feel like you're missing out on anything. With perfectly balanced sound and incredible dynamics, you'll feel like you're in a concert hall.
Preamp Function
On the device's rear panel, you'll find SE and BAL preamp outputs for balanced and unbalanced signals. This option allows you to use the ST-Amp as a DAC and preamp for a much more powerful system.
Ultra-Low Distortion
Low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is an important characteristic, and the engineers at EarMen take it very seriously. The ST-Amp has very low total harmonic distortion, allowing for increased power efficiency, reduced peak currents, and distortion-free operation.
Linear power supply with high efficiency
The amplifier features a noiseless linear power supply with high stability, allowing it to easily provide sufficient output power even for the most demanding headphones. In addition to the unique amplifier topology, the power supply has exceptional characteristics even at full power, which is often not the case with most amplifiers, so in their specifications, you may find measurements, but at half power.
