The model is fully automated. After assembly and setup, simply place the record, select its size with the corresponding button (12-inch or 7-inch), and press the Start button located on the front near the Stop button, and the DP-300F will do the rest. The cartridge needle will be automatically positioned on the starting track of the record, and after playing the entire album, the tonearm will return to its place. Manual placement of the needle on the record is also possible, which is convenient for choosing a specific track to listen to. An EP adapter for 45 RPM records is included.
The Denon DP-300F support disc is made of aluminum through high-precision pressure casting for smooth and uniform rotation. It is topped with a rubber mat. It uses a DC servo motor that transfers torque to the disc through a belt drive. Speed switching (33.3 or 45 RPM) is done with the push of a button. The straight tonearm features an anti-skating system and a lift lever, with the option to adjust the tracking force. Vertical and horizontal angle adjustments are not provided.
The package includes a DSN-85 MM cartridge with a quick replaceable needle. Another model can be installed if needed. The cartridge head weight should be between 5 to 10 grams as per instructions. A removable shell makes cartridge installation simpler. The player comes with an RCA interconnect cable and can work with various amplifiers or AV receivers thanks to its built-in switchable MM phono preamp. The ability to turn off the preamp offers convenience for upgrades, such as using an external phono preamp.
