Description

Dekoni x Hifiman Cobalt are full-size closed-back High-End headphones. They are based on the latest Hifiman technologies in dynamic drivers and Dekoni's years of expertise in tuning transducers.

Features:

  • 45mm dynamic driver with carbon-coated diaphragm
  • High-precision sound tuning by Dekoni experts
  • Thick soft headband for increased comfort
  • Perforated sheepskin ear pads
  • 3.5mm - 6.3mm audio cable with gold-plated contacts

Transducer:

The Cobalt's dynamic driver uses a carbon-coated diaphragm produced by Hifiman, designed to allow carbon layers to be applied anywhere on the transducer. This gave Dekoni engineers incredible flexibility in fine-tuning the sound, which was the starting point in creating the Cobalt headphones.

Acoustic Chamber:

Further sound experiments by Dekoni engineers involved testing various materials for the headphone cups, especially the surface behind the driver. It was decided to slightly reduce the soundstage in favor of a good response in the lower frequencies. Cobalt headphones are closed-back, boasting a very clean sound across all frequencies, with minimal resonances of sound waves from the drivers reflected off the rear wall.

Headband:

The headband chosen was Hifiman's option - thick and soft, distributing pressure excellently on the head for increased comfort, allowing for extended listening sessions.

Ear Pads:

The final, but no less important detail - ear pads - Dekoni's specialty. After numerous experiments with materials used in their Elite line and high-density memory foam, Dekoni created ear pads made of perforated sheepskin - comfortable, breathable, showing the best sound results during internal testing.

Over-Ear (cover the ear completely), on-ear (pressed against the ear), in-ear (inserted into the ear canal) or earbuds (inserted into the auricle, but not inserted into the ear canal).

Glossary of terms
wired
The lowest frequency, Hz
20
The highest frequency, kHz

The upper limit of the frequencies reproduced by the device. The human ear hears the standard frequency range: 20 Hz – 20000 Hz.

Glossary of terms
20
Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Glossary of terms
16
Headphone sensitivity, dB

More sensitive headphones will play louder than headphones with less sensitivity (with the same signal level and resistance)

Glossary of terms
101
Driver type

Most of the headphones are dynamic but there are electrostatic, isodynamic, etc.

Glossary of terms
dynamic

Dynamic drivers use a circuit with a fixed magnetic system, in the gap of which a movable sound coil connected to a diffuser is placed.

Словарь терминов
Type of acoustic design

Open (with no insulation) or closed (passive noise insulation) or semi-open (intermediate version). Open headphones sound more airy and provide a wide stage, closed ones provide noise isolation and amplify low frequencies.

Glossary of terms
close
Membrane diameter, mm

The size of the driver membrane

Glossary of terms

Detachable cable

The opportunity to disconnect the standard headphone cable makes it possible to experiment with different wires.

Glossary of terms
yes
Cable length, m

The length should allow you to lay the cable with a small margin. The longer the cable, the more impact it can have on the sound.

Earpads material

The material of earpads affects both your comfort and the sound. It can be leather, eco-leather, velour, fabric/microfiber and foam rubber.

Glossary of terms
leather, velour
Kind of headphones
over-ear

The type of headphones that cover the ears and can provide complete noise isolation.

Number of drivers

The number of drivers in each headphone. However, quantity does not equal quality. Driver coordination, their configuration, correct crossover, sound bores affects the sound
