The Krypton series is positioned between the Balthus and Courbet lines. The name of the Krypton series pays tribute to a model created in the late 80s, which marked the beginning of Davis Acoustics company. In this series, developers have gathered all the advanced technologies of the company to introduce the listener to new compact, high-performance, and stylish speaker systems.

The Davis Acoustics Krypton 9 model is a 3-way speaker system with a front-firing phase inverter. This compact floor-standing speaker is equipped with three drivers - a 28mm silk dome tweeter, a 130mm midrange driver with a Kevlar diaphragm, and a 170mm paper woofer. All drivers are equipped with soft foam surrounds, especially noticeable on the tweeter housing.
28mm Tweeter
The high-frequency reproduction of the Davis Acoustics Krypton 9 is achieved by a soft fabric dome tweeter. Its unique feature is the 28mm diameter, which is much larger than most other tweeters. This results in a significantly expanded dispersion pattern, reduced distortion, and enhanced performance at higher power levels. Additionally, the perception of different frequencies is optimized, and the listening area is broadened.
Midrange Driver
With the expertise in speaker development, Davis Acoustics focused on Kevlar material for accurate sound reproduction. Therefore, the floor-standing Krypton 9 speaker features a 13cm Kevlar diaphragm midrange driver for mid-frequency reproduction. The speaker is enhanced with a metallic overlay to reduce turbulence and distortion, providing rich, natural, and detailed midrange reproduction.
Bass Section
The Kevlar midrange driver of the Davis Acoustics Krypton 9 is paired with two 17cm differently structured woofers made of treated cellulose pulp with rubber surrounds. These woofers feature large voice coils and powerful magnetic assemblies for minimal sound deviation and dynamic, powerful bass output. The floor-standing speaker is equipped with a front-firing phase inverter with a laminar fan to enhance bass performance. The crossover frequencies are set at 400 and 4000 Hz, with a frequency response ranging from 35 Hz to 24 kHz and a sensitivity of 93 dB.
Cabinet
The speaker cabinet is made of MDF with internal bracing for rigidity to effectively eliminate unwanted vibrations and resonances. It is mounted on a wooden base that slightly tilts the speakers back for optimal alignment of the drivers. The speaker base can rest on non-slip pads or height-adjustable spikes included in the package.
Accessories and Setup
The Krypton 9 model is easily connected to various stereo or AV amplifiers. Its neutral character ensures quality listening across all music genres. It comes with an inclined plinth, mounting tools, and spikes for decoupling from the floor. Leaving space behind and at the sides and slightly angling towards the listening area can enhance spatial sound structure and provide a three-dimensional effect.
High-quality components and optimized crossover tuning allow for extended listening without fatigue. Explore a new dimension of music enjoyment with the Davis Acoustics Krypton 9.
