    Description

    The Davis Acoustics Courbet N 8 speakers were originally designed to work in large rooms, with all the developers' efforts focused on achieving high dynamic characteristics, which determined some design features. Courbet N 8 is a 3-way speaker system that uses 3 exceptional drivers, all three of which are manufactured in the production facility in Troyes. The speakers attract attention with their balance, speed, tonal density, and a unique sense of grandeur. Undoubtedly, this is a new benchmark in its segment.

    Features:

    • Brand new tweeter with dual decompression;
    • HF driver: 28 mm;
    • MF driver: 130 mm, with a Kevlar diffuser Olympia One Master;
    • LF driver: 210 mm, carbon fiber;
    • Recommended amplifier power: 150 - 200 W;
    • Crossover frequency: 250 - 2500 Hz;
    • Cabinet material: MDF.

    The Davis Acoustics Courbet N 8 is a high-quality floor-standing speaker system created using advanced technologies and innovative design. This speaker has several advantages, making it one of the best in its class. The dynamics and bass of the Courbet N 8 blend well with a delicate and detailed midrange. This is especially noticeable when reproducing acoustic instruments - they sound beautiful, with rich and natural tones. There is no coloration in the upper and midrange frequencies, the system sounds linearly, with a correct tonal balance.

    LF driver:

    All drivers are designed by Davis Acoustics specialists. The low-frequency range is covered by an 8-inch (21 cm) driver with a carbon fiber diffuser. This material has high rigidity with low mass, and the woven structure has good damping properties. This means that the driver can operate with minimal distortion, without coloring the sound. It works in a bass reflex enclosure and has a linear characteristic in the range of 40 - 400 Hz. The port of a considerable diameter is placed forward, allowing the speakers to be placed closer to the wall. By adjusting the distance, you can fine-tune the bass character.

    MF driver:

    The five-inch (13 cm) midrange driver has a Kevlar diffuser. Kevlar is also a fabric, but much stronger and lighter than carbon fiber. Michel Visan, the company's founder, was one of the first in the industry to use this material and learned to maximize its benefits. Kevlar is a fabric that is much stronger than carbon fiber and lightweight.

    At midrange frequencies, high amplitudes are not necessary, the main thing here is response speed, so the low mass of the moving system is crucial. These same drivers are used as mid-bass in the Olympia One Master bookshelf monitors, which received the prestigious "Golden Camerton" award. In the Courbet N 8, their range is limited to 250 - 2500 Hz, resulting in increased linearity and a reliable transition to other frequency ranges.

    HF driver:

    The tweeter is borrowed from the top model Karla 2.0. The one-inch synthetic fiber dome is loaded with a double compression chamber to dampen local resonances. An efficient cooling system is provided for the 28 mm sound coil to combat thermal compression.

    The crossovers are assembled with surface mounting to allow the shortest signal path. Perhaps that's why the creators of the Courbet N 8 deemed separate connection of frequency bands unnecessary - there are two input terminals on the back panel.

    Cabinet:

    First of all, the design features a rigid cabinet made of thick MDF sheets reinforced with internal braces. At the base, there is a massive plate with threaded inserts for spikes. The slight tilt accomplishes two important tasks: reducing the likelihood of standing waves and providing temporary alignment of all three frequency ranges. With this arrangement, the slowest, bass driver is closer to the listener, and the lightweight tweeter dome is further away, ensuring that the fronts of the signals they reproduce arrive simultaneously.

    Overall, Davis Acoustics Courbet N 8 is an outstanding floor-standing speaker system that offers high sound quality, elegant design, and user convenience. It is the perfect choice for those who appreciate excellent sound and attention to detail.
