The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 bookshelf speakers are larger than the younger model in this series and can be a great foundation for a compact stereo system. This speaker will also perform well in the front channels of a home theater, of course, with the appropriate support of a subwoofer.

The speakers are housed in damped MDF cabinets with very high-quality external finishes in different options. The thickness of the front panel of the speaker is 25 mm, providing good protection against vibrations even when listening at high volume. The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 are equipped with a large 6.5-inch woofer, the diaphragm of which is made of pressed paper-wood mass. This material is traditionally used by DALI for the manufacture of midrange and bass diaphragms, thanks to its excellent acoustic properties.
The speaker diaphragm has a reliable rubber suspension and is mounted on a cast aluminum basket. In addition to very good mechanical characteristics, this basket allows free passage of air waves from the back of the diaphragm, which makes the woofer sound distortion-free in a wide dynamic range.
Another feature of the low-frequency driver in the DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speaker is the use of an SMC composite material ring in the magnetic system. Thanks to this, the field is leveled, and the movements of the voice coil become more precise and smooth. The low-frequency driver is loaded onto the Dual Flare phase inverter, the output port of which is located on the rear panel. This port operates quietly and effectively, and also allows the speakers to be placed close to the wall without audible distortions in the low-frequency range.
The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 are equipped with an updated tweeter, which has a 29 mm fabric dome - a similar radiator was installed in the high-class Callisto C speakers of this company. The tweeter is placed in a small round waveguide, which aligns its directivity diagram and increases efficiency. The drivers are connected to a crossover made of selected components. The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speakers are produced as matched pairs at the company's factory in Denmark.
