Description

Cayin RU6 is a portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that offers multi-bit technology with a discrete resistive matrix and balanced output. It supports PCM384 kHz and DSD256 formats, ensuring high-quality sound reproduction.

The DAC utilizes a discrete resistive matrix and balanced output configuration, providing accurate and faithful audio reproduction without impacting the unique sound signature. For each channel, 48 resistors are used to support 24-bit audio.

The volume control of the RU6 is designed with resistors and switching relays to ensure precise control and minimize noise levels. The device is enclosed in a durable aluminum body and features high-precision 0.1% resistors for optimal performance.

The RU6 is energy-efficient and features dual six-layer circuit boards, separating the digital and analog signal paths to minimize interference and external noise.

This product offers two modes: NOS mode and oversampling mode. The oversampling mode enhances resolution, transparency, and expands dynamic and frequency ranges, creating a refined sound with less pronounced "multi-bit character."

With its wide compatibility, the RU6 can be used with various operating systems such as Windows (7-10, driver installation may be required), MacOS, Android (requires USB audio support), iOS, and iPadOS. It supports two levels of gain and provides output power of up to 213 mW through the 4.4mm output and up to 138 mW through the 3.5mm output when properly powered.

The package includes:

  • portable DAC
  • USB OTG cable (allowing the device to function as a host or peripheral)
  • documentation

Power output

This is the useful power developed by the amplifier in the load resistance. Amplifiers are usually characterized by the highest power that can be obtained at the output, provided that the distortion does not exceed the specified permissible value. This power is called the output power of the amplifier.
