HTM82 D4

HTM82 D4 is designed for home theaters based on the more compact 803 D4 or 804 D4, and such a center channel is the perfect solution for them. Its midrange speaker pairs well with the smaller size of the family's junior speakers, and the impressive sound ensures a deep viewing experience.

Features:

  • 200mm Aerofoil woofer
  • 25mm diamond dome tweeter
  • rigid aluminum midrange compartment
  • bionic suspension for midrange drivers' centering disc (Biomimetic Suspension)
  • enhanced Matrix stiffness fins
  • Flowport phase inverter
  • exclusive stand

The 800 D4 series sets the highest standard of quality for high-end constructions for many years to come. Equipped with the latest technologies developed in the company's research center over the six years since the previous generation was released.

Each new model in the 800 D4 series combines hundreds of improvements to individual details, plus several completely new technologies, creating speaker systems with the clearest, most detailed, and natural sound ever produced by Bowers & Wilkins.

Most notably, the unique and revolutionary biomimetic suspension for midrange drivers' centering disc, rethinking the fundamental principles of traditional drivers. Fabric discs generate extraneous sounds due to unpredictable nonlinear effects. Bionics—the science of using nature's achievements in technology—has allowed for an extremely strong, lightweight, and open design based on the analogy of a bird wing's structure. The result is unprecedented transparency and realistic sound in the mid-frequency range.

Each model in the new series is also equipped with an improved version of the legendary massive top-mounted tweeter body with a longer Nautilus load tube for even more open and clear sound in the high frequencies. This extremely rigid body effectively suppresses unwanted resonances and represents an exceptionally efficient acoustic form, especially when combined with a new dual-point decoupling system isolating it mechanically from the rest of the speaker.

The 800 Diamond series has undergone a deep modernization of the body: the matrix structure of interconnected internal Matrix stiffness fins has been improved, with robust plywood partitions further reinforced with aluminum inserts in critical load-bearing points. Inside the HTM81 D4 is a rigid aluminum compartment designed to maximize the sound quality of the midrange driver, providing a controlled environment for its decoupling and preventing unwanted air leakage.

A range of key Bowers & Wilkins technologies introduced in previous generations of the 800 series are still successfully used in the HTM81D4, including the legendary diamond dome tweeter, Continuum material, and FST suspension in midrange drivers' diaphragms, Aerofoil-profile bass drivers, and Flowport phase inverter port.

Bowers & Wilkins HTM82D4 is a three-way speaker system equipped with a 25mm diamond dome tweeter, 130mm FST midrange driver with Continuum diaphragm, and two 200mm bass drivers with Aerofoil diaphragms.
