Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition

The Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition is a special version of wireless headphones with active noise cancellation, created in partnership with the automaker McLaren. The headphones feature McLaren styling, including orange accents and McLaren logos. The Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition build on the benchmark sound quality of the Px8 model, with a premium design that pays homage to the partnership with the luxury supercar manufacturer, who developed innovative audio system technologies.

Features:

  • Premium-class headphones designed in honor of the unique McLaren supercar design
  • Angled carbon diffusers
  • High resolution thanks to advanced DSP processor
  • Unrivaled high-resolution sound and noise cancellation
  • Bowers & Wilkins Music app with streaming from popular services

Externally, the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition differs from the original PX8 model with a Galvanic grey finish and papaya orange inserts. The papaya orange color is inspired by the famous color that appeared on early racing cars of McLaren's founder, Bruce McLaren. The subtle McLaren logo on the headband completes the expressive and impactful design of the headphones.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition use adaptive wireless aptX™ technology and a powerful DSP processor to achieve outstanding 24-bit high-resolution sound from compatible streaming services. The precise angle of the carbon diffusers reduces distortion, reduces noise, and significantly enhances sound clarity. Along with optimized magnetic system, improved voice coils, and suspension, unparalleled playback accuracy and realism is achieved.

To ensure comfort during extended listening sessions, the headband design has been enhanced. The fit of the ear cups has been improved for those who wear glasses. The clamping force and ear cushion design in the PX8 have been optimized to provide comfortable wearing with glasses.

Despite the high sound quality and features, the headphones are extremely user-friendly, thanks to intuitive control buttons and a touch-sensitive flat sensor on the right earcup. Control and customization are available in the Bowers & Wilkins Music app. Users have access to an equalizer for sound tuning, as well as control over noise cancellation and transparency modes.

A standout feature of this model is the adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) function. It is built on four built-in microphones in the headphones, with two capturing external noises and two assessing the headphone sound itself. This hybrid scheme effectively protects the listener from external noises without compromising sound quality. Two additional microphones are used for precise voice transmission during phone calls. The placement of the microphones in the Px8 has been changed compared to predecessors to improve call quality. The revised microphone position allows for better voice capture and more effective wind noise reduction.

With up to 30 hours of battery life, the headphones can play music throughout the day - and even more - on a single charge, while a 15-minute quick charge provides up to seven additional hours of listening.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX8 McLaren Edition is an excellent choice for those who want not only useful features for listening to music, but also a beautiful, stylish design created with the brand identity of McLaren in mind.
