HTM72 S3
The HTM 72 S3 is a more compact center speaker in the new 700 series. It features a carbon dome tweeter and two mid/bass drivers with Continuum diaphragms. This is the perfect partner for home theater systems based on the models 704 S3, 706 S3, or 707 S3.
Features:
- Slimmer enclosure
- Curved front panel with protruding driver capsules
- Continuum diaphragm with FST suspension
- Improved terminal plate
- Upgraded magnetic systems, chassis, and crossover
- Flowport port
- Amplifier power: 30 to 120 watts
Thanks to the composite construction of the Continuum diaphragm, it allows for smoother behavior, avoiding the sharp transitions that can degrade the sound of regular drivers. As a result, it delivers a more open, neutral performance that accurately conveys voices and instruments with high precision and transparency.
The Bowers & Wilkins 700 series consists of eight models: floor-standing, bookshelf, and center channel speakers, known for their exceptional sound quality and elegant design. Drawing on cutting-edge technologies from our flagship 800 Diamond series, trusted by many of the world's most renowned recording studios, the new 700 series brings studio-quality sound into the home through elegant, high-quality models suitable for any preference and interior decor.
The new 700 series continues Bowers & Wilkins' commitment to incorporating concepts and technologies inherited from its flagship lineup. Extensive research over three years has transformed nearly every element of the new series, from cabinet construction, drivers, and finishes, to key acoustic and mechanical improvements.
Beautiful Design, Premium Details
For the first time in the 700 series, the new lineup features slimmer cabinets with smoothly curved front panels and drivers installed in external "capsules," creating a visual and technical parallel with the 800 Diamond series. This form significantly reduces the impact of the front panel on sound quality, minimizing sound diffraction effects on the cabinet. As a result, the new series acoustically "disappears" better than ever, allowing you to focus solely on the music without distraction.
The new cabinet shapes are not only more elegant than before but also available in a new Mocha finish, a beautiful wood with a grainy pattern that complements the updated proportions and premium details of the new 700 series speaker cabinets. Mocha joins the existing Gloss Black and Satin White finishes, forming a three-component range for most markets worldwide.
Enhanced Drivers, New Acoustic Forms
Taking a significant step forward in acoustic characteristics, Bowers & Wilkins now offers its iconic tweeter technology in a substantial, single-piece housing in four models of the new 700 series. This includes half of the entire lineup.
The tweeter dome retains the characteristics of Bowers & Wilkins' Carbon Dome model with a first resonance frequency of 47 kHz, combined with improved vented voice coils and new magnets.
Optimized for Sound Quality
To provide the best platform for these drivers to excel, the new 700 series introduces upgraded speaker terminals based on the 800 series, featuring stronger contacts more suitable for "spade" type connectors. Audio signals go to meticulously upgraded crossovers, still utilizing audiophile Mundorf capacitors complemented by bypass capacitors. Heat sinks for dissipating crossover heat have also been improved to achieve an even cleaner sound.
All models in the lineup feature upgraded, larger diameter phase inverter ports with increased bandwidth, delivering a more expansive and spatial sound.
