The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Wedge has a unique elliptical shape designed to deliver the full range of frequencies - from the highest to the mid and lowest. For a true stereo effect, the speaker angles are carefully calculated so that the desired sound reaches every part of the room.
Integrated into the central part of the facade is a 150mm woofer connected to a built-in 80-watt amplifier. To the left and right of the woofer are 90mm midrange drivers, positioned outward at an angle to provide wider dispersion. Above each midrange driver is a one-inch dual dome tweeter borrowed from the B&W 600 series speaker systems. Each midrange driver and tweeter is connected to a separate built-in 40-watt amplifier. The speaker features a DSP signal processor and Dynamic EQ dynamic equalization system.
The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Wedge model is equipped with a Bluetooth module supporting aptX HD, AAC, and SBC codecs. AirPlay and AirPlay 2 protocols are supported. Additionally, the speaker easily integrates into a separate wireless multi-room network with a mesh structure (Formation technology) based on Formation series models, operating independently of the home Wi-Fi network. This ensures perfect synchronization with virtually no delays or losses (data transmission delay between Formation components does not exceed one microsecond). The signal in such a network can be transmitted in resolutions up to 24 bit/96 kHz.
For access to local network audio files, Wi-Fi or Ethernet (LAN) port are used. The speaker can be controlled not only with the touch buttons on the top panel but also through an app for iOS or Android devices.
