The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Wedge has a unique elliptical shape at 120 degrees, designed to deliver the full range of frequencies - from the highest to the mids and lows. For true stereo effect, the speaker angles are carefully calculated so that the desired sound reaches every part of the room.
Integrated into the central part of the facade is a 150 mm woofer connected to a built-in 80 watt amplifier. To the left and right of the woofer are 90 mm midrange speakers, angled outward to provide wider dispersion. Above each midrange driver is a one-inch double dome tweeter borrowed from the B&W 600 series speakers. Each midrange and tweeter is connected to a separate built-in 40 watt amplifier. Equipped with a DSP signal processor and Dynamic EQ dynamic equalization system.
The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Wedge model is equipped with a Bluetooth module supporting aptX HD, AAC, and SBC codecs. AirPlay and AirPlay 2 protocols are supported. Additionally, the speaker easily integrates into a separate wireless multi-room network with a cellular structure (mesh network, Formation technology) based on Formation series models and operates independently of the home Wi-Fi network. This ensures perfect synchronization and effectively eliminates any delays and losses (data transmission delay between Formation components does not exceed one microsecond). The signal in such a network can be transmitted at a resolution of up to 24 bit/96 kHz.
To access audio files from the local network, Wi-Fi or Ethernet (LAN) port is used. The speaker can be controlled not only through the touch buttons on the upper panel but also through the app for iOS or Android devices.
