Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D Subwoofer
The DB Series is the most advanced subwoofers ever released by Bowers & Wilkins. Continuing the tradition of the stunning DB1 subwoofer, each of the three models uses new digital technologies and materials borrowed from the award-winning 800 Diamond Series speakers. All three models offer immense power, featuring Aerofoil drivers and an all-new digital preamplifier section with Dynamic EQ system. The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D is the most powerful active subwoofer ever released by Bowers & Wilkins.

The built-in 2000-watt amplifier provides a remarkable drive, solidity, and authority. Thanks to the all-new digital preamplifier, this powerful subwoofer always delivers the optimal power level. It utilizes 12-inch (300mm) bass drivers with Aerofoil diaphragms, identical to those found in the flagship 800 Diamond Series speakers. Mounted in an opposite, balanced configuration, these drivers dramatically reduce cabinet vibrations, resulting in a cleaner and more precise sound. The result is fantastic bass without coloration.
Like all new DB Series subwoofers, the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D is incredibly easy to set up and control, thanks to a dedicated mobile app available for both iOS and Android devices. This app provides instructions for placement, setup, troubleshooting, and can also be used to manage outputs and audio presets. The Room EQ system allows you to optimize the subwoofer's sound for your room conditions using the microphone built into your smartphone (no separate calibration microphone required). The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D is housed in a medium-sized MDF cabinet and can be finished in black lacquer or natural wood (cherry or rosewood). It features two 300mm bass drivers with Rohacell diaphragms, operating in a balanced mode, and a Class D amplifier capable of delivering up to 1000W of power.
At the base of the subwoofer, there is a control system with a display and cursor buttons for menu navigation and settings adjustment. The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D has 5 memory slots with different sensitivity settings, input filter characteristics, graphic equalizer, and room compensation values; you can also save custom settings in the device's memory. These buttons can also be used to switch inputs. Sound tuning can also be done via PC - in this case, connection is made to the RS232 connector on the rear panel of the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D using the included cable, and the B&W SubApp program must be running on the computer. Interestingly, the display base is rotatable - if desired, it can be turned 90 degrees relative to the rest of the cabinet.
The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D subwoofer is equipped with a balanced mono input, unbalanced inputs (stereo and for connecting to a special low-frequency channel output), two trigger inputs (regular and menu-controlled), an input for an external IR control system, and the aforementioned RS232 connector. Additionally, the built-in software of the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D can be updated via a separate USB input. The subwoofer comes with rubber feet and spikes - the choice of a specific option depends on the type of floor surface in the listening room. Thanks to its flexible sound tuning and high-quality construction, the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond DB1D can be used to provide sound in virtually any room.
