The new 700 Series continues Bowers & Wilkins' policy of incorporating concepts and technologies inherited from its flagship range. Through an extensive three-year research program, almost every element of the new series has been transformed, from cabinet construction, drivers, and finishes to key acoustic and mechanical improvements.

Beautiful design, premium details:

For the first time in the 700 Series, slimmer cabinets with smoothly curved front panels and drivers mounted in external "capsules" have been introduced in the new lineup. This reduces the impact of the front panel on sound quality, minimizing sound diffraction on the cabinet. The new series literally "disappears" acoustically, allowing you to focus solely on the music rather than cabinet resonances.

The new cabinet shapes not only more elegant than before but also available in a new Mocha finish, complementing the updated proportions and premium details of the 700 Series speakers. Mocha joins the previously offered Gloss Black and Satin White finishes, creating a three-component range for most markets worldwide.

Enhanced drivers, new acoustic forms:

Taking a significant step forward in terms of acoustic characteristics, Bowers & Wilkins now offers its iconic tweeter technology in a massive solid housing in four models of the new 700 Series. Floorstanding speakers 702 S3 and 703 S3, as well as bookshelf speaker 705 S3 and center channel speaker HTM71 S3, now feature top-mounted tweeters. This allows the creation of a complete home theater system based on models with a top-mounted tweeter.

The top-mounted tweeter design in the new lineup has been completely reworked. The new tweeter housing, as usual made from a solid aluminum block, has been significantly elongated to reduce distortions and provide even cleaner sound. This elongated form is further improved by the introduction of a two-point suspension system, isolating the tweeter mechanically from the speaker cabinet for a more open soundstage.

In addition to these mechanical enhancements, the tweeter dome retains Bowers & Wilkins' Carbon Dome characteristics with a first resonance frequency of 47kHz, along with improved vented voice coils and new magnets. Even models equipped with front panel tweeters - 707 S3, 706 S3, 704 S3, and HTM72 S3 - benefit from these changes, along with significantly elongated tubing to reduce distortion and provide cleaner sound.

Bionic suspension:

In all 3-way speakers of the new lineup, Bowers & Wilkins has introduced the revolutionary bionic suspension, first introduced last year in the 800 Diamond Series. Replacing the usual cloth centering washer with a bionic one has significantly reduced unwanted noises in the midrange driver operation.

When used in conjunction with all other patented Bowers & Wilkins technologies for midrange drivers, including vibration isolation for the entire midrange section, aluminum driver chassis with tuned mass dampers to reduce resonances, fixed FST diaphragm suspension, Continuum material, the bionic suspension provides astonishing clarity in midrange sound.

Sound quality optimization:

To provide the best platform for these drivers to succeed, the new 700 Series features upgraded speaker terminals based on the 800 Series with stronger contacts suitable for spade connectors. Audio signals pass through meticulously upgraded crossovers, continuing to use Mundorf audiophile capacitors supplemented by bypass capacitors. Heat-dissipating radiators for the crossovers have also been enhanced for even cleaner sound.

All models in the lineup are equipped with larger diameter upgraded phase-inverted ports delivering a more expansive sound experience. The 703 S3 model comes with super durable M6 spikes.
